BIRDS

Over 400 species of birds have been recorded throughout the park, including the wattled crane, purple crested loerie
and Pel’s fishing owl.

With its rocky bays and long stretches of submerged trees creating perfect perching opportunities, the Kafue River is also home to an abundance of water birds including fish eagles, cormorants, spoonbills and the stately Goliath Heron.
